On Thursday, November 10, 2016, the America China Society of Indiana will be hosting its annual gala at the Conrad in downtown Indianapolis. The event will feature a networking cocktail hour, dinner service, keynote speech and traditional Chinese dance performances.

On October 27th, the State of Indiana welcomed an investment delegation from Zhejiang Province. Led by Deputy Secretary General Mr. Lu Jianqiang, the 40-person delegation attended the Invest in America Conference hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Indiana Economic Development Corporation. The group, which included representatives from Automotive, Banking, Energy, Manufacturing, Media, Medical Device, and Venture Capital industries, met with city and state officials before touring the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and attending a welcome reception by ACSI.

The city of Indianapolis is hosting the eighth annual Indianapolis Chinese Festival downtown on September 24, at IUPUI Wood Plaza from noon to 6 p.m.. This festival is held during the month of Chinese Moon Festival, which is the second largest Chinese festival after Chinese New Year.  The Moon festival in China is a celebration of the harvest with family and friends.

On September 1st, the America China Society of Indiana hosted its first ever China Business Conference at the Conrad in downtown Indianapolis. The half-day event began with a welcome address by Secretary of Commerce Victor Smith and Chinese Consul General Hong Lei followed by a China Economic Outlook by JP Morgan Chase’s Kok-Chi Tsim. The event also included two panel discussions: the first on China Investment in the Midwest by Mr. Charlie Cai (Westfield Outdoors), Mr. Jim Lechleitner (STARR Strategic Partners), Mr. Eric Lo (China Telecom Americas) and Mr. Russell Menyhart (Taft Stettinius & Hollister); the second on Indiana Investment in China by Ms. Christine Sohar Henter (Barnes & Thornburg), Mr. Ye Hu (U.S. Commercial Service), Mr. Kingdon Offenbacker and Ms. Julie Xing (Eli Lilly and Company).

Join us at the Indianapolis Central Library to welcome the Ordinary Hangzhou Photography Exhibit. Guests are invited to view an exhibit of 55 images depicting the daily life of citizens of Hangzhou, China, an Indianapolis Sister City with the photographers from China. Indianapolis is one of 10 cities worldwide presenting the exhibit to commemorate Hangzhou’s hosting of the international Group of Twenty (G20) summit. This free event is only open for current ACSI Corporate Members.
