The city of Indianapolis is hosting the seventh annual Indianapolis Chinese Festival downtown on September 12, at Military Park from noon to 6 p.m.. This festival is held during the month of Chinese Moon Festival, which is the second largest Chinese festival after Chinese New Year.  The Moon festival in China is a celebration of the harvest with family and friends.

This seminar will feature speakers from the International Center to cover appropriate etiquette, protocol and cross cultural communication when in China or working with Chinese colleagues as well as a speaker with extensive working experience with China to share the challenges and opportunities present in the Chinese market.

Russell Menyhart, an attorney with Taft Law, will share insights on Chinese business experience stemming from his extensive international background, most recently serving as political unit chief at the U.S. Consulate in Shanghai from 2011-2014.

2015 Spring Conversational Chinese Non Credit Classes

Mandarin Chinese is the standard and most widely spoken dialect of the Chinese language. As such, Mandarin Chinese is essential for Americans interested in doing business, vacationing, or studying in China. As Chinese businesses, tourists, and scholars travel to the United States in growing numbers, Americans are also finding Mandarin Chinese very useful here at home.

Join us for practical and enjoyable courses in Mandarin Chinese. All courses meet one session per week and are held in the Confucius Institute in Suite 129 at the IUPUI Campus, except as noted. Parking is the responsibility of the student.
